masks

The wearing of masks has been a powerful symbol throughout traditional cultures, of the ability of humans to get in touch with fantasy and no limitation .

Face-painting as skulls is a chance  to overcome fear of death .

People in Mexico wear traditional skull masks, and the tradition of painting faces to look like a skull has grown up as a variation to this unique folk-art.

All the mask are unique pieces made in paper mache , hand painted and some ornaments added.

Every piece has a name  in  " NAHUATL "   dialect spoken  in Center Mexico by the Mexicas, also known as Aztecs.                                                                  NAHUATL IS STILL SPOKEN IN SOME  AREAS OF MEXICO.
